New Membership Information
NEW NIPPERS & NIPPER PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Children from 5 years old (at 30th September) up to 13 years old can join our Club as Junior Activities members, also known as Nippers. A parent or guardian must complete a registration form and a medical/consent form for each nipper joining. Parents/carers are also required to join. Parents/carers need to complete a registration form, a Supporters' Club membership form and a Blue Card application. The required paperwork can be downloaded from this page or contact Club administration for more information (07) 5448 1728. New parents/carers most frequently join as Associate members but many decide to gain awards so they can participate in patrols or help with water activities during nipper training.
NEW PATROL MEMBERS & WATER SAFETY
All new members commence as probationary members but after they have attained the appropriate award they become recognised as certified members of Surf Life Saving in one of the following categories: 13 and 14 year olds can attain a Surf Rescue certificate (SRC) and then become Active Cadets who can participate in patrol activities. 15 - 18 years old can attain their Bronze Medallion and are included in all patrol activities, they are known as Junior Actives. Senior Actives are 18 years or more and have gained a Bronze Medallion so they can participate in lifesaving duties. All adults 18 years or older who attain a Surf Life Saving Certificate but not a Bronze Medallion are classed as Award members. Award members include Radio Operators, Advanced Resuscitation certificate holders and Operational First Aid certificate holders all of whom can and do participate in patrol activities. Nipper parents who do not wish to do patrols but want to help with water safety at nippers can gain the minimum of a SRC and also become Award members. New patrol members who are under 18 years old require a parent or guardian to sign their registration form and also to complete a medical/consent form for them. New patrol members who are 18 or over need to complete a registration form, a Supporters' Club membership form and a Blue Card application. The required papework can be downloaded from this page or contact Club administration for more information (07) 5448 1728.
